A pizza has earned the nickname ‘The Inducer’ due to its reputation for sending pregnant women into labour.

While many overdue woman resort to spicy food, sex, pineapple and bouncing on an exercise ball, the Buffalo Wing Pizza at Hawthorne’s New York Pizza and Bar in Charlotte, North Carolina has reportedly sent “multiple women” into labour, reports local news outlet Charlotte Five.

The paper spoke to three women who all gave birth to their children shortly after sampling the pizza which they did from hearing on the local grapevine that it was the place to visit if you were desperate to push your baby out.

Restaurant owner Michael Adams said: “I think it’s amazing. When the first person posted that our Buffalo Wing Pizza induced their labour, several new mums followed up to say the same thing. I bet my wife wished she had known about the inducing pizza when she had our two kids at 9lbs plus.”

The restaurant told Munchies the last woman they are aware of had her child within four hours of eating the pizza and said they are considering renaming it to ‘The Inducer’.

The NHS say there is no proven ways of triggering labour at home and none of the well-known rumoured methods have been scientifically proven.
