Even before the Home Secretary's promised new clause is inserted into the Criminal Justice Bill during its journey through the House of Lords, the British video industry is apparently running scared. CIC has just announced the postponement of the innocuous sci-fi / horror spoof Dollman vs Demonic Toys, previously due to hit the shelves on 27 May. The press release says CIC is awaiting clarification on the legislation. This is odd, as Dollman vs Demonic Toys has already received a certificate from the British Board of Film Classification and the new legislation will not be retroactive. Contacted for comment, CIC had nothing to say . . .
