Zanobi Strozzi: In the Light of Fra Angelico The National Gallery
You could be forgiven for not knowing the name of Zanobi Strozzi - a minor master of the Florentine Renaissance. He was one of several pupils of Fra Angelico who worked in the master's style and whose own works can rarely be given a firm attribution. This mini-exhibition claims at least one picture for certain. It centres on an Annunciation of 1440- 5, which has been newly cleaned and restored to reveal a surface much changed by the years - and Strozzi's name inscribed in the border of the Virgin's robe.
The National Gallery, Trafalgar Square, London WC2 (0171-747 2885) To 7 Mar
