Glasgow's new museum opened to the public last Saturday, with a broad mix in which pictures by Beryl Cook rub shoulders with dot paintings by Australian Bushmen artists; and Elizabeth Blackadder hangs alongside Bruce McLean. What will be most interesting will be the way in which this eclectic collection is presented.

Marlene Dumas
The first chance for some years to see a representative selection of works by this acclaimed Dutch artist. Dumas plunders the imagery newspapers, magazines and Renaissance altarpieces. Her themes are variously race, sex and violence, addressed through a mass of miniature portraits. Engaging, disturbing and often simply beautiful.
