Lucy Worsley explores the popularity of country-house crime stories

This boutique festival will host a number of events befitting its resplendent setting on the 18th-century site and in the Oxfordshire town of Woodstock.

Simon Thurley's English Heritage Lecture will survey the history of British architecture and the designer Nicky Haslam talks interiors with Lady Henrietta Spencer-Churchill.

Lucy Worsley explores the popularity of country-house crime stories; The Independent's DJ Taylor reads from his wartime novel The Windsor Faction; while Simon Heffer and Hannah Greig discuss, respectively, the Victorians and the Beau Monde of Georgian England.
