J.K. Rowling has finally answered three very important questions that have been bugging the most devoted of Harry Potter fans for years.

The author took to Twitter to clear up a few pressing queries from fans earlier today, solving problems of Horcruxes, 12 Grimmauld Place's bizarre location and the mystery of what on earth happened to three-headed dog Fluffy?

Oh and she put those wondering about her taste in tea's minds at rest too.

How come when Harry gets bitten by the Basilisk in Chamber of Secrets it doesn't destroy the Horcrux in him?

Then it was back to work as her alter ego Robert Galbraith on the next instalment in her bestselling crime series.

The TV adaptation of Rowling's novel The Casual Vacancy is set to air soon on BBC1. The storyline follows the conflict within a picturesque English village and stars Michael Gambon, Keeley Hawes, Rory Kinnear and Monica Dolan.

Elsewhere, Rowling is busy working on a series adaptation of The Cuckoo's Calling, also for BBC1, and is co-writing the script for Harry Potter spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
