Bangladesh Festival 7 to 25 Jul Various venues, London

It shouldn't come as a surprise that one of the world's most crowded countries has an extremely rich culture, and this festival is a chance to experience just what Bangladesh has to offer. Some 50 events will be taking place at venues including the Barbican Centre and the South Bank's Queen Elizabeth Hall, while Brick Lane - in what has come to be known as London's "Banglatown" - will be transformed into a little piece of the country, with rickshaw rides, food stalls, music and dance for all to enjoy. Festival highlights include a gig by Asian Dub Foundation, a cinema season at the ICA and 000 zerozerozero, an exploration of changing Asian identity in Britain at the Whitechapel Art Gallery.
