Timothee Chalamet and Armie Hammer on board for Call Me By Your Name 2
Director Luca Guadagnino has already spoken about revisiting Elio and Oliver, five or six years after the events of the film
Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer are on board for the Call Me By Your Name sequel.
Speaking to Time magazine, Chalamet revealed he's discussed the idea with his co-star and that the project has also received the blessing of the source book's author André Aciman.
He said: "I don’t see any world where [the sequel] doesn’t happen. I think Andre is comfortable with a sequel being made. I know Luca really wants it. And I know Armie and I are 1000% in.”
Director Luca Guadagnino had already previously announced his intention to revisit Elio and Oliver earlier this year. He said in March: "I'm already conceiving the story with [author] André Aciman, and it's gonna happen five or six years afterwards. It's gonna be a new movie, a different tone."
"You’re gonna see a lot of the East Coast of America… They’re gonna go around the world.”
Guadagnino's latest, a remake of Dario Argento's 1977 horror Suspiria, will be released in UK cinemas 16 November.
