Fast and Furious 8 trailer parks itself atop Beauty and the Beast's viewing record
It seems that people love exploding snowmobiles
The trailer for Fast & Furious 8 - brilliantly named The Fate of the Furious in the US - has been clocking up some serious views since it was released on Sunday (11 December) - so much so that it's become the fastest viewed of all time.
You may recall that last month saw the trailer for Disney's Beauty and the Beast reboot achieve the same feat. Well, it's been shunted into second after The Fate of the Furious notched up an extra three million (139 million against Beast's 127.6 million).
According to Deadline, it helps that Universal's sequel saw a "historic Times Square takeover" in which the trailer was blasted on 33 digital billboards simultaneously (that's a lot of exploding snowmobiles) as well as airing during what was the most-watched NFL game of the year.
Still, it's an impressive feat for a franchise on its eighth film.
