Sir: I noticed the word "competency" (again) in today's edition ("Heart scandal boss", 8 June). Overcoming my reticency, and at the risk no doubt of an accusation of pedantic petulancy, might I suggest that the nonchalancy of your sub-editors can on occasion interfere with the brilliancy of your journalism?
