Sir: Peter Ryan was lucky to own an electric razor in E flat (letter, 15 November). The model I use hums clearly on D when new, so must be slower (and presumably less efficient) than an E flat model. When the pitch of my razor eventually falls to C sharp I know that it is time to consider replacing it.
