Sir: The whole point about the millennium is that it marks approximately 2,000 years of Christianity. In any other context it is an arbitrary and meaningless date. The hoo-ha N A Walker writes of ( letter, 2 August) reminds me of an overheard conversation in a charity Christmas card shop: "My husband likes those Nativity cards, but I prefer something more Christmassy."
