Observations: The Feeling return to their roots as curators of Little World
Join with us," The Feeling command on one of their less forgettable numbers, a request tricky to perform when they are ensconced halfway up the French Alps. For that is where you will find them next week as the good-time band get to curate their own festival, Little World.
Based in the ski resort of Méribel, this five-day event sees them return to their roots. It was in and around this collection of hamlets and chalets that The Feeling played some of their earliest gigs, performing up to three sets of covers a day to an inebriated après-ski crowd in different bars.
The line-up tips its hat to middle-of-the-road inspirations, featuring Glenn Tilbrook of Squeeze fame and 10cc's Graham Gouldman. The bassist Richard Jones's wife, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, has a high billing, as do the singer-songwriter Ed Harcourt and the DJ Norman Jay.
