BLISS WAS IT in the dawn of Comic Relief to be a comic, but to be a fledgling TV presenter, very heaven. Or, as Jonathan Ross admits in a history of the fund-raising day of laughter presented by Ewan McGregor (right), A Bunch of Red Noses (9pm R2): "If they'd said we were doing something to preserve sparrows, I'd have said yes." But the brainchild of Jane Tewson has done much more than help self-publicists, as the programme reminds us with reports about this year's overseas projects from Julian Clary and Stephen Fry.
Brian de Palma talks about his "difficult reputation" in The Directors (10pm R2), while Germaine Greer flaunts it on Night Waves (10.45pm R3).
