A LEISURELY six-part series, All Singing, All Dancing, All Night (9pm R2), is presented by Wigan boy Stuart Maconie, who looks back at the Seventies glory days of Northern Soul. Then, every pub and cafe in the North-west echoed to the sound of rare Philly grooves and the Wigan Casino was the most fashionable dance venue on the planet. Meanwhile, Charles Darwin (right) continues to run riot: Evolution after Darwin (9pm R4) examines the current state of evolutionary theory. The first programme, "The Monkey Puzzle", looks at the evidence that we are very closely related to the great apes. More surprisingly, it is starting to look as if our ape cousins once walked upright, too.
