THE PUBLICITY for Cleopatra (6pm Sky Cinema) trumpeted that this was "The motion picture the world has been waiting for!" Somehow, however, the movie - at the time, the most expensive ever made - failed to live up to its colossal billing. For all that, this 243-minute epic certainly lacks nothing as a spectacle. Joseph L Mankiewicz's film boasts the requisite starriness with the central pairing of Elizabeth Taylor (right) - a replacement for the original choice, Susan Hayward - and Richard Burton. It also inspired one of the best ever Carry On films, Cleo. Over the years, Scotland have displayed an alarming tendency to be beaten by supposedly lesser teams. Let's hope that there won't be any hiccups in tonight's European Championships qualifier Scotland vs Faroe Islands (7pm Sky Sports 1).
