ANGELA'S ASHES, Frank McCourt's lyrical account of his impoverished Irish childhood, is now being turned into a film by Alan Parker (right) and stars Robert Carlyle. 'Tis (9.45am R4FM) sees McCourt picking up where he left off at the end of Angela's Ashes. The author tells the story of his return to New York in 1949, where he embarks on a series of dead-end jobs before joining the forces and returning to Europe.
