Lars von Trier's hugely disturbing and insanely ambitious soap-from-hell (set in a chaotic Copenhagen hospital) finishes its run at the ICA next Thursday, but will doubtless be on repertory schedules for years to come. Catch it, in one four-and-a-half-hour hunk, and then sit in the pub afterwards with your jaw on the floor. ICA, London SW1 (0171-930 3647)

Trainspotting

You'll have read the book, seen the play, and perhaps even taken the drugs. But the film of Irvine Welsh's junkie bible, directed by Shallow Grave's Danny Boyle, doesn't open until 23 Feb.
