Sounds of the Sixties (Barbican, 071- 638 4141, Fri to Mon 12). A dodgy concept, presumably intended to complement the patchy exhibition in the Barbican Gallery, this weekend mini- festival features the Carr brothers' Emcee 4 and pianist Michael Garrick on Fri (12.30am-5pm).

Mike Westbrook (Crucible Theatre, Sheffield, 0742-769922, today). The outstanding English composer's new 20-piece band plays items from his extended pieces written over the past two decades.
