Victoria season 2: What time is the ITV drama on? Cast, where to watch, plot, and everything else you need to know
Jenna Coleman returns as the famous monarch

After months of waiting, Victoria will finally be on screens once more, the second series starting a month after the monarch gave birth for the first time.
So, what time does the Jenna Coleman-starring drama start? And what do you need to know? We have all the answers below.
When does Victoria start again?
The second series begins today (27 August) ) at 9.05pm on ITV. There will be eight episodes this series, the same number as the first. The show will be available on the ITV player after broadcast.
Have the episode titles been released yet?
So far, we’ve only been given the first two episode titles — A Soldier's Daughter and The Green-Eyed Monster — both of which are written by Daisy Goodwin, who wrote all but one episode of the last series.
What’s going to happen this series?
As mentioned above, the series picks up one month after Victoria gave birth to her first child in 1840. The Queen must balance her family life and duties as Albert struggles to find his place.
“Even though she reigned in the 19th Century, Victoria is a heroine for our times,” ITV has said of the series.
“In the next series she faces the very modern dilemma of how to juggle children with her husband and her job. As Victoria will discover, it’s hard to be a wife, a mother and ruler of the most powerful nation on earth!”
During the 40s, Victoria went on to have another five children (including future King Edward VII), having another three between 1850 and 1857. Expect more child bearing throughout the series.
Another plot line will likely be the Great Famine, when Ireland was hit by a potato blight, leading to over a million Irish people dying and another million fleeing the country.

During the period, she was known as the ‘Famine Queen’, with rumours started that she only donated £5 to the Irish (according to the myth, she also donated the same amount to Battersea Dogs Home at the same time). Victoria actually donated over £2,000, more than any other person.
There were also multiple assassination attempts during the same period, two men trying to kill the Queen in 1849 and 1850, which may appear in the show.
Who’s in series 2?
Many cast members are returning for the second series, including Coleman as the titular character, and Tom Hughes as her husband Albert.
Others returning include David Oakes as Prince Ernest, Nell Hudson as Miss Skerrett, and Eve Myles as Mrs Jenkins. Whether Rufus Sewell returns as Lord Melbourne remains to be seen.
Also thought to be coming back are Catherine Flemming as the Duchess of Kent and Peter Bowles as the Duke of Wellington.
