EXPECT the critical mud to fly in Toronto when the Canadian Opera Company's new double bill of Bluebeard's Castle and Erwartung opens on 22 January: its director is Robert Lepage, he of the viscous Midsummer Night's Dream which is still packing them in at the Royal National Theatre. This is the operatic debut of Lepage, who is Canadian himself, and the designer is his Dream collaborator Michael Levine.
