Tales from the Crypt (1972)

The sadistic head of a blind home is imprisoned by his victims. The only way out is through a narrow corridor lined with razorblades. He edges out to be faced by his own starved Alsatian who chases him back.

Theatre of Blood (1973)

In imitation of Titus Andronicus, in which "an old queen eats her babies", a master chef kidnaps a gay epicure's beloved poodles and force-feeds them to him through a funnel until he chokes.

Mad Max (1979) Max handcuffs a crook to his wrecked car and arranges the spilling petrol so it seeps towards a naked flame. He gives him a hacksaw but tells him he only has time to escape if he saws off his own hand...

Scanners (1981) During a demonstration of psychic powers, telekinetic Michael Ironside makes a lecturer's head explode through sheer power of will.

A Nightmare on Elm Street, IV (1986)

Freddie Krueger picks on the athletic teenage girl with a horror of insects and turns her into a cockroach which he lures into a giant-sized "roach motel" insect-trap and squashes.
