Good Day for Laura Ferguson, who had a stolen bag returned by a penitent thief. The bag contained her artificial hand, complete with a $2,000 amethyst and diamond ring on the index finger. Ms Ferguson explained that the hand gets hot in summer, so she had taken it off.

Bad Day for Parisian pigeons, which now face a new hazard in a device that creates magnetic fields to repel them from buildings and monuments. The new system, designed by a company in Toulouse called Pigeon Vole, has the advantage of not disturbing other birds or cats.
