  • Sue Barker has criticised the BBC for her dismissal from the sports trivia show A Question of Sport and its subsequent cancellation.
  • Ms Barker, who hosted the show from 1997 to 2021, revealed she was prohibited from mentioning its name or related terms during her current live tour.
  • In front of a sold-out crowd at London’s Hammersmith Eventim on March 2, Ms Barker said she “got sacked, basically”.
  • She also said she was “not allowed” to use the names of any of the trivia rounds during the tour, “but in actual fact, they're all exactly the same”.
  • Ms Barker earlier called her former employer’s handling of her departure “insulting”, saying it gave her and her co-hosts “so little respect”.
