  • Global Airlines, a new British airline, has launched ticket sales for its inaugural transatlantic flight from Glasgow to New York.
  • The flight, scheduled for May 15, will use an Airbus A380 and marks the start-up's first venture.
  • Return ticket prices are set at £778 for economy, £3,700 for business, and £7,127 for first class.
  • These prices are significantly higher (88 per cent) than comparable flights from Edinburgh to New York on the same dates offered by other airlines.
  • The flight is a one-off charter operated by Hi Fly Malta, unlike the initially planned scheduled service between London Gatwick and JFK.
