Essentials: Erotokritos, designer

My inspiration is Oscar Wilde and 19th-century dandies crossed with hip-hop style – I like to mix things up a bit, so my style is a combination of sporty and smart pieces. I wear Nike trainers and oversized jeans but on my top half I'll wear tailored jackets and tight pullovers.

I live in Paris and I love the French label APC because it's great for effortless basics in exactly the right shapes and colours each season (www. apc.fr).

I always go to Martin Margiela for cashmere V-necks and leather jackets (www.maison martinmargiela. com). In London, I like to go to high-street shops such as Topshop and Niketown.

I used to design only for women but recently started designing menswear with myself and my friends in mind. I get inspiration from film – my latest range is based on Godard's Le Mépris, which everyone should watch to learn how to do effortless chic. It's all about simplicity and strong colours.

Parisian pharmacies all stock great mid-range skincare such as Biotherm (www.biotherm.co.uk), which makes life easy. I'm addicted to the lemon body lotion from Korres (www.korres.com), a brand from my native Greece, and when I'm in London I always stock up on Philosophy toiletries (www.philosophy.com).

I like natural ranges such as Clarins and Aveda and I hate vulgar, overpowering scents so I wear the very classic Cologne by Thierry Mugler (www.thierrymugler.com).

I think the key to style is to keep your look clean and graphic. I love stripes – they make people look noble.
