Thousands of gamers had an unwelcome missive from their PS3s this week. Owners of older versions of the console received a message reading, “8001050F – Hardware failure.
Cannot update Firmware or connect to internet”, leaving them unable to play games or access PSN; in some cases, trophy achievements were deleted. Blaming the problemon a calendar glitch, Sony says it is now resolved, and that services are up-and-running. Let’s hope those achievements are restored, too.
