National Trust to hold burlesque shows to attract new members

Forget prim and proper, the National Trust is spicing things up at one of its properties in Devon with burlesque.

The organisation is hoping to attract a new generation of members through its 'Crickey! It's Vintage at Killerton' shows that will be taking place at Killerton House in June.

The two shows will feature risqué performances from Kitty's Dolls Burlesque and singer Lola Lamour. However, the acts will be tasteful and there will be no nudity involved, according to organisers.

Last year the Trust saw a four per cent drop in visitors from across the country and given the recent growth in popularity of burlesque, this alternative day out could boost membership.

Crickey! It's Vintage at Killerton will run on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June, 11am-5pm at Killerton House
