Nevermind the legacy... it's Nirvana: The Musical

One fact to arise from the ongoing trial between Britney Spears and her creepy ex-manager, Sam Lufti, is that there could be a Nirvana: The Musical show in the works.
Lufti, who apparently works solely with troubled pop stars, let slip that he and Courtney Love are "currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalogue, based on her life and Kurt Cobain's."
I'm sure Kurt, who loathed the band's increasing commerciality at the time of his suicide in 1994, would be thrilled with the news. Not only that, but it was also revealed last week that CBS had bought the rights to a new family sitcom called Smells Like Teen Spirit, named after Nirvana's 1991 hit single and threatening to feature "1990s indie-rock parents". It's from one of the writers of The Big Bang Theory. How punk!
Cobain's memory has taken a hammering this year. Along with musicals and sitcoms, Republican Vice Presidential hopeful Paul Ryan came forward as a huge Nirvana fan. Cobain, a self-proclaimed feminist, would have detested Ryan's policies on women's health issues.
