Your obituary of Molly Hide [by David Frith, 13 September] is a wonderful tribute to a remarkable and unforgettable person, writes Charles Stuart. It did, however, overlook one of Molly's other great accomplishments - her consummate skill with the dry fly.
Not only did Molly organise and control an unruly group of individuals in the Peper Harow Park Flyfishers Club, of which she was Honorary Secretary for many years, but she consistently "wiped the eye" of those who believed new methods of attacking the trout were superior to traditional ones, of which she was a master.
The mark Molly Hide left on the river-bank is indelible.
