Antony Haynes: Simon was allowed to consume alcohol on only two nights this week. Alcohol, smoking and general pollution are toxic to the body and stress the liver, which struggles to keep your system clean. Drinking extra water every day will help his body get rid of the toxins that build up.
Simon often feels tired in the afternoon – eating smaller meals and cutting out the blood sugar rollercoaster will help balance his energy levels. A small snack including sesame or sunsunflower seeds will provide essential fatty acids which will maximize cognitive function, whilst also providing useful antioxidants (selenium, vitamin E, calcium and zinc), which are thought to help protect against cancer.
