a question of time win an oris watch
Five citizens of the Russian town of Termophlask went out buying their weekly quantity of provisions, which had fallen off the back of a lorry. Unfortunately, they all ended up standing in rather long queues for certain items, each for a different number of minutes (from 20 to 60).
Vera wasn't buying bread. Alexandr Ovapich spent 20 minutes less time queueing than the person who stood waiting for milk. Anna, famous for her Baked Alaska, stood in line for ice-cream.
The potato buyer's surname is Blastov. The man waiting for eggs, who spent ten minutes less time queueing than Vladimir, but 20 minutes longer than Vera, is called Karfskin. Loppitov, the local hairdresser, waited for 50 minutes. Sergei queued for 20 minutes less than Krotish.
From the information given, can you work out their full names, what they queued for and for how long?
An Oris watch worth pounds 200 will go to the sender of the first correct answer opened. All entrants will receive a copy of the magazine Tough Puzzles.
