Ariana Grande wax figure at Madame Tussauds met with widespread criticism: 'That's not Ariana'
'This looks like anyone BUT Ariana Grande'
Madame Tussauds London debuted its new wax figure of Ariana Grande to the widespread confusion of fans.
On Tuesday, the wax museum, which had asked fans for input regarding the singer’s outfit, tweeted photos of the latest celebrity rendition.
“You chose Classic Ari! Now we have her style nailed, you can see Ariana Grande at Madame Tussauds London for five weeks from Friday,” the museum wrote alongside photos of the Grande figure dressed in an oversized sweatshirt, thigh-high black boots and her signature ponytail.
However, the "Thank U, Next" singer’s figurine has been met with ridicule since it was unveiled, with many fans arguing it doesn’t resemble Grande at all.
“Tell that wax figure to move so I can see Ariana’s wax figure," one person wrote.
Another said: “I look more like Ariana Grande than this wax figure of Ariana Grande."
“Ariana Grande’s wax figure looks NOTHING like her how disappointing,” read a further tweet.
Others have suggested the figure looks more like Grande’s brother Frankie in a wig, or Deena Nicole Cortese from Jersey Shore.
According to some of the critics, the wax figure’s facial features are to blame, with one person pointing out Grande’s eyebrows “have never looked like that”.
This is not the first time the pop star has been reimagined in wax. Earlier this year, the Madame Tussauds in Berlin unveiled an Ariana Grande wax figure and in 2017, a version was debuted at the Las Vegas location.
