A new lifelike Beyoncé waxwork has been unveiled at Madame Tussauds in London, showcasing the star dressed in her 2018 Coachella performance ensemble.

Many of the singer’s dedicated following – otherwise referred to as her “Beyhive” – rejoiced as images of the realistic wax figure were revealed online on Thursday.

However, the addition of the new Beyoncé waxwork wasn’t the only surprise the wax museum had in store for them.

The official Madame Tussauds Twitter account also shared a photograph of the waxwork taking centre stage alongside members of the royal family with a crown on her head, tweeting the caption: “Take your throne, Queen Bey.”

The museum explained that the “only fitting way to laud official music royalty” was to “position her on the most regal of all stages alongside her royal pals, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex”.

The waxwork for Queen Elizabeth II was temporarily moved for one day in order to make room for the 23-time Grammy Award-winning artist.

“Beyoncé is a living legend, rightly crowned Queen Bey by her legions of fans and industry insiders,” said Steve Davies, general manager at Madame Tussauds London.

“If anyone is fitting of a claim to the Queen’s spot in our attraction for the very first time, it’s Beyoncé.”

Davies added that he thinks the monarch would find the temporary replacement of her waxwork amusing.

“In the words of Beyoncé herself, Her Majesty is most definitely ‘irreplaceable’ so Queen Bey will take her spot for one day only before her figure moves to own our music stage,” the manager stated.

The new Beyoncé waxwork has proven immensely popular among her fans, particularly due to the fact that previous wax depictions of the singer have been far less accurate.

“Did they 3D print this one? Because the previous ones were made by people who clearly had never seen Beyoncé’s face. Well done, Madame Tussauds,” one person tweeted.

“Finally a wax figure that doesn’t disrespect Queen Bey. Thank you for getting it right!!!” another added.

A second new Beyoncé waxwork is due to be unveiled at Madame Tussauds Las Vegas in October.

In July, the singer made the acquaintance of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex at the London premiere for Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King.

The artist was filmed telling the duchess that she and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, “love” the royal couple.
