Your correspondent writes of Karajan and Solti as the greatest conductors of our time (Letters, 14 September) . Many of us who care more for music than showbusiness consider Haitink deserves the title.

You are wrong to say Mother Teresa closed down the Co-Workers Groups. We never raised funds as she never wanted us to become a sort of "Save the Children" organisation, but to concentrate on actually doing good.
