Michael White's review (3 March) of the recent production of Tosca at the ENO mistakenly gave Janice Chapman as the name of the performer in the title role.

The renowned teacher of singing and chairman of the Executive Board of the British Voice Association, soprano Janice Chapman asks us through her solicitors Geraghty & Co to make clear that she was not the performer playing the role of Tosca criticised in the review. We unreservedly apologise for our error.
