According to a new survey, the majority of American dads feel that Mother's Day gets more attention than Father's Day, which this year falls on June 19.
The survey, released June 14, questioned 350 American fathers on behalf of Manofthehouse.com, a website created by Proctor and Gamble: of those surveyed 80 percent said they felt Mother's Day received more attention than Father's Day.
Out of all respondents, 59 percent felt they "are better fathers than their dads," and 89 percent considered themselves "good fathers."
Father's Day in many regions typically falls on the third Sunday in June and this year occurs on June 19.
Numerous online retailers including eBay and Amazon are offering selections of gifts selected for Father's Day, with amazon.com dividing gifts according to personality type such as "fix-it dad " and "gadget dad."
With June 19 less than a week away, it is also likely that the upcoming occasion of Father's Day is having an impact on product searches on Google. Data from Google Insights show that a number of fathers are likely to get facial care items this June 19 with searches for "shaving accessories" increasing by 250 percent over the last seven days in the category "Products."
