Tesco's secret recipes

Watchers of Tesco will be less than surprised at the company's tie-in with Microsoft to the detriment of potential customers who use alternative Internet facilities (Eva Pascoe, 22 July). This is consistent with an earlier "service" on their Web site whereby to view recipes one had to (a) be a Windows user, and (b) download a special piece of database access software. All others were excluded from information of such sensitivity.

A new era of reporting on Apple?

May I take this opportunity to congratulate Network+ on publishing two articles with surprisingly pro-Apple messages. With Eva Pascoe telling PC users to throw them away and buy Macs and Cliff Joseph having the bravery to suggest that things aren't beyond hope at Apple, I hope this marks the beginning of a new era of reporting on the "troubled" computer maker.

Kirkup's poem available via snail mail

The link to James Kirkup's poem "The Love That Dares To Speak Its Name" may have been removed from the Web site of the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement (Network+, 22 July), but it is still available on several US Web sites. Anyway, for more than 20 years it has been available on receipt of a stamped addressed envelope and a written request from the Free Speech Movement, 84B Whitechapel High Street, London E1 7QX.
