The first Google Doodle was dedicated to the Burning Man Festival in 1998 - an annual art and community festival held in Nevada. Now, fifteen years later, the search engine is almost as famous for its Doodles as it is for its algorithms and market domination.
Today's Doodle celebrates Earth Day, and yesterday the Google Doodle celebrated the life of fashion photographer Sir Norman Parkinson.
Throughout the history of the popular and at times, unexpected, Doodle, we've seen interactive games, videos, and much more. Cult icons, famous historical figures, important events and online in-jokes have all been given the Google Doodle treatment.
