Apple iPhone 6s and 6s Plus battery percentage may be wrong, leading devices to shut down while appearing fully charged

Apple said that it is looking to fix the problem, but has offered a temporary fix in the meantime

Some iPhones can fail to update their battery percentage, meaning that the phone might show as being full but in fact be about to run out of battery.

The problem affects the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Apple said. It can be fixed with a temporary solution but the company is working on something more permanent, it has said.

The phones can be thrown out when their users are travelling through time zones, or when the time on the phone is manually changed, according to an Apple support document.

It can be fixed by restarting the phone and then heading to the Settings app. From there, users can pick “General”, then “Date & Time” and check that “Set Automatically” is turned on.

The company says if the problem continues when users didn’t change the time or time zone then they should get in touch with Apple support.

Apple’s support page says that it is “aware of this issue and is investigating the cause and a solution”.
