Plans for a golf driving range and indoor tennis centre at Beckenham Place Park, south-east London, have been rejected by the Department of the Environment after a public inquiry. The DOE ruled that the the development would be detrimental to the park, which is afforded the same protection as green belt land, and the 18th century listed mansion house for which it provides a setting.
