A record number of jury panels - ten in all - retired to consider verdicts at the Old Bailey yesterday after hearing evidence in cases of rape, manslaughter, robbery, blackmail, assault and burglary. The Old Bailey, with 18 courts, only has ten rooms for juries to retire to.
