WILL SELF's insightful, sympathetic interview with Andrea Dworkin was the best that I have read for a long time ("The invisible woman", Review, 21 March). As he rightly points out, Dworkin has been presented as one of the most reviled figures in feminism, the epitome of the dungaree- clad, man-hating dyke, which has meant that her intelligence and analysis of rape and abuse could be conveniently dismissed. Perhaps the sympathy extended towards Dworkin by Will Self will also work to deconstruct the stereotype which the media has created of him.
