MOTORWAYS ARE GOOD FOR YOU......BUT TRY TELLING THAT TO REGULAR USERS OF THE M25

Electronic service engineer from Cheltenham
I drive 30,000 miles a year on motorways, but I don't feel safe. You might get away with a mistake at 30mph, but on a motorway you'll probably kill yourself.

I don't believe motorways are the safest roads, mainly because of other drivers. I certainly haven't noticed any new safety measures. But I don't feel unsafe on motorways: I feel bored and frustrated.

I feel safer on motorways than on most A-roads. I'm glad they're taking coaches out of the outside lane. If you're doing 80 or 90mph, like a lot of drivers, you need to see ahead.

The most effective safety measure is for people to observe the rules. The greatest risk is from juggernauts. I don't think the police are doing enough to make them stick to the rules. They're very threatening.
LENA WILLIAMS

I feel safest on motorways because people can overtake me easily - I'm a slow driver. Changes? I haven't noticed any. I suppose they're wider and bigger than they used to be.
