Triples all round!

Jeepers! Rotten terror tart lies on Anne's big neck.

Insofar as so many readers have been successfully solving our "Mixed Doubles" puzzles, we've ordered a round of trebles this week. The nine words above conceal three famous names that made front-page news this week. To find the names, split the nine words into three threesomes, then arrange the letters within each.

A copy of Chambers Encyclopaedic Dictionary will be awarded to the first correct answer opened on 28 September. Entries to: Saturday Pastimes, The Independent, 1 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London E14 5DL.

2 September answers:

ORANGE+GRAPES=BANANA

Three possible answers lead to APPLES = 722089 or 911063 or 911036. Winner: Julie Williams
