Hollywood has always been keen on psychiatrists, off-screen and on. It's only the on-screen kind, though, under scrutiny in Paging Doctor Love (7.20pm R4). Anthony Clare looks at how film has portrayed shrinks, and derives four archetypes - Dr Dippy, Dr Know-All, Dr Evil, and the incredibly sexy Dr Love. (It's interesting that Hannibal Lecter fits all four categories.)

By contrast, there's a stunning absence of psychological insight in Those Magnificent Men (9pm R2), a feature about film-making and aviation - a subject almost bursting with Freudian resonance. Instead, we get a list-heavy but entertaining account of the many ways that aeroplanes have been used, from dog-fights to chorus girls on the wings.
