Sample the fine art of food

Never one to mince his words, A A Gill will be chewing over the subject of The Fine Art of Food at the Saatchi Gallery on Wednesday. Gill, Sunday Times columnist, restaurant reviewer and author of the recently published Ivy Cookbook, will be getting his teeth into the phenomenon of restaurants as places in which to consume art as well as food. With restaurants such as Quo Vadis and The Pharmacy (left) adorned with works by Damien Hirst and now as famous for their art as for their food, A A Gill asks whether restaurants are destined to be the new galleries of the future. Visitors will also be treated to a private view of the acclaimed Alex Katz exhibition.
