Well now there's a chance to prove yourself (or not) with the So You Think You're Funny? competition at this year's Edinburgh Festival, sponsored by Channel 4 and the Gilded Balloon. Established comedians are among the judges who decide if you're a dead- beat or next year's hot ticket.
