28-year-old US singer/songwriter Dar Williams (right) is at the forefront of a new generation of folk singers. Her debut album The Honesty Room and the recently-released follow-up Mortal City, have seen her hailed as the best thing since Suzanne Vega. Williams has received rave notices in the States, prompting the Washington Post to comment: "few of her peers write with as much wit, warmth and honesty".
