Avital Cohen shows off her Back and Abs workout

A fitness blogger has revealed the incredible transformation she’s undergone after recovering from an eating disorder.

Avital Cohen, from Israel, regularly posts photos and videos of her gym workouts and impressive results.

But in a recent photograph, the 23-year-old shared with her more than one million Instagram followers that she didn’t always live a healthy lifestyle - and that four years ago she’d had a “severe eating disorder.”

“I was afraid to eat because in my mind I was fat,” she wrote. “I was never satisfied with my looks or my weight… never happy with myself and quite often very hard and judgemental about my body.”

According to Cohen, recovering took dealing with her mental health, beginning to workout, and eating six small meals a day.

She wrote: “It’s a journey I took and embraced in order to LIVE. Since then I’m a much happier person, positive, healthier and treat my body with the love it deserves.”

Now, the blogger works out three to four times a week, eats four meals a day, made up of healthy proteins, vegetables and carbs and gets eight hours of sleep every night.

Cohen concluded her post reminding her followers to “use the struggles as a drive to work harder on your mind and body. Not just in being fit but in everything you do.”

“I’ve learned to read stories no matter the length they are because in the end you usually find something that speaks to you, that ends up motivating you. I love how far you have come,” one person wrote.

Another said: “Wonderful transformation. This message is so important, never stop fighting!”
